470セーラー、コーチ、クラスメンバー、そして友人の皆様へ。

現在進行中のCOVID-19パンデミックとヨーロッパ、特にスペインとフランスでの新たな急増を考えると、470マネジメントコミッティは、2020年オープン・ヨーロッパ選手権を、100％安全な方法で希望する参加者レベルで開催することは不可能であると判断しました。470クラスとイベント主催者であるClub Nàutic S’Arenalは、急速に進行する地元や国の規制やマヨルカ島への渡航警告のため、イベントの運営を保証することはできません。そのため、2020年オープン・ヨーロッパ選手権は公式にキャンセルされ、2020年内に別の日程や場所で開催されることはありません。我々は今、2021年のシーズンに期待を寄せています。

この発表をさせていただくことを大変残念に思います。マネジメントコミッティは可能な限りの選択肢を検討し、470クラス全体の最善の利益のために広範囲に検討したことを知っておいてください。この決定を下すために、470クラスの皆様から与えられた追加の時間に感謝いたします。

2020年イベントの主催者の皆様には、この困難な数ヶ月間のすべての支援と協力に対して特別に感謝の意を表したいと思います。今後も470クラスのイベントに向けて、このような継続的なパートナーシップが私たちの励みになっています。

私たちは今、470クラスをより良くするために2020年末までにできる長いアクションリストに目を向けています。現在の2021年のスケジュールにはこれ以上の変更はなく、クラスは安全でプロフェッショナルな方法で将来のイベントを提供することに焦点を当てています。

470 Management Committee Update - August 21, 2020

Dear 470 sailors, coaches, class members, and friends:

Given the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and the new surge of cases in Europe, especially in Spain and France, the 470 Management Committee has determined that the 2020 Open European Championship cannot be held in a 100% safe way and with the desired participation level. The 470 class and the event organizer Club Nàutic S’Arenal cannot guarantee the running of the event due to rapidly-evolving local and national restrictions and travel warnings for Mallorca. Therefore, the 2020 Open European Championship is now officially cancelled and will not be replaced by another event on an alternate date or location within the calendar year 2020. We now look forward to the 2021 season.

It is with great regret that we make this announcement. Please know that the Management Committee weighed all possible options and extensively deliberated on the best interests of the 470 class as a whole. We appreciate the additional time granted to us by the 470 community to make this decision.

A special thank you to the organizers of our 2020 events for all their help and cooperation over these difficult months. We are encouraged by this continuing partnership for 470 class events for years to come.
We now turn to our attention toward the long list of actions we can take through the end of 2020 to make our class better. There is no further change to the current 2021 schedule and the class is focused on delivering those future events in a safe and professional manner.
